Merino: The Super Fabric.
Merino has unique qualities making it especially suitable for children’s wear. Its merit lies in its natural control of temperature, moisture and odour within an overall package of comfort, durability and style.
Merino sheep are reared in relatively extreme weather conditions, withstanding cold temperatures at high altitude and warm lowland summer conditions; consequently their fleece has adapted to thermally regulate the sheep according to the conditions. The key to this phenomenon lies in the superfine wool fibres that are far thinner than those of other breeds.
From this, the product benefits are derived:
Comfort - superfine fibres mean no sensation of ‘prickle’, ideal for children and newborns to wear next to their skin in total comfort. It is also suitable for children with skin conditions.
Thermal control - superfine fibres trap heat pockets yet still breathe so clothes are suitable for any season, any day, indoors and out, always keeping children not too hot nor too cool.
Moisture wicking - fibres draw moisture away from the skin so children never feel clammy.
Odour limiting - merino is naturally antibacterial and with its wicking ability odours are reduced so there is less need for washing. Unless there is food to clean off just an airing will do the trick.
Robust and convenient - can be machine-washed. Tops generally dry overnight but if you need to, you can tumble dry.
